Birthdays are something we look forward to especially when we are young. The gifts, the party. the thought of getting a year older- we find it overwhelming in all the right way. But when we reach the point where tiaras or pink-themed parties no longer interest us and the real world starts to matter, something inside just wants to find the switch that would make the clock stop somehow, remembering and envying the movie Back to the Future for being able to come up with a device that could turn back time.

Maybe this stage is far too young an age to be worried about such things, even quoting the line from the Palmolive commercial that age is but a number and young is an attitude. Maybe so. But perhaps the reason behind our generation's eagerness so early on in our lives to put a stop to the addition of age is because early on in our lives we become too ambitious, dreams-filled and driven to the point of setting up goals and time to reach them that when we beat that clock but haven't yet fulfilled the remark alongside our list, we fear that we may run out of time to accomplish them all- at least for most youth I know that is the case.

Don't get me wrong though, we enjoy every minute of life and of getting to our dreams, keep in mind it is from us that you heard YOLO (You only live once), and the numerous songs singing of living and of being young. It may be a bad thing as it may be a great change for the youth. But whatever view you look at it, we are determined- this generation is. And regardless of us fearing age, we don't fear the road to our destination. That is something to be proud of. My dear elders, we are living by your generation's expectations. As our national hero said and I quote, "Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan." (The youth is the nation's hope).

So why all the rant about age and stuff?
Because it's my lovely sister's birthday!

She loves Italian food so when I heard Boracay's Aria Cucina Italia jut recently came to Manila's shore, I called up and made reservations right away!

I wasn't able to take a picture of all that we ordered, as we were all just too famished by this time and went on digging in the food.

The Marinara Pasta is tasty though contains few seafood mix.
The deli platter is a great anti pasti (especially for cheese aficionados)
Oddly, the Pizza Quattro Formaggi lacks the salty cheese combination flavor.
But the complimentary bread sure did make up for it.
